….pyramids decorated with stone carvings of jaguars and snakes rise out of a dense jungle, tiny sugar skulls decorate a home altar in preparation for El Dia de Los Muertos, horses burdened with firewood move slowly down steep cobblestone streets…“clack, clack, clack”…, giant, colorful skirts spin in a whirlwind as a group of dancers performs to live marimba music, a train passes over impossibly steep canyons in the land of the Tarahumara Indians, mariachis play romantic music to the delight of the couples gathered in a tree-lined park, fresh corn tortillas and chiles warm on a wood burning stove, canoes filled with candles drift towards an small island as families gather in a graveyard to celebrate the Day of the Dead, an old woman dressed in a traditional bright red dress weaves a colorful blanket on a wooden loom…..
